CITIZEN TOXIE: TROMA FILM SCREENING

CITIZEN TOXIE: THE TOXIC AVENGER IV. When the notorious Diaper Mafia take hostage the Tromaville School for the Very Special, only the Toxic Avenger and his morbidly obese sidekick Lardass can save Tromaville. However, an explosion results in some unforeseeable consequences where it creates a dimensional tear between Tromaville and its dimensional mirror image Amortville. While the Toxic Avenger (Toxie) is trapped in Amortville, Tromaville comes under the control of the superhuman powered hero's evil doppelgänger the Noxious Offender (Noxie). With the citizens of Tromaville unaware of the switch, Mayor Goldberg decides to combat "Toxie" by calling in every superhero he can afford.

TERROR FIRMER: TROMA FILM SCREENING

Terror Firmer is the latest moneymaking Dali-esque masterpiece unleashed by director Lloyd Kaufman and the Troma Team. Their trademark manic humor combines with a new darker sensibility to create the latest in a legendary line of genre-bending classics. Inspired by Lloyd Kaufman’s book, “All I Need To Know About Filmmaking I Learned From The Toxic Avenger” (Penguin Putnam), Terror Firmer is the most action packed, most personal, most bizarre, and most commercial celluloidal adventure in the 25-year history of Troma Entertainment. Honored by Film Festivals the world over, Terror Firmer has firmly established Troma as THE fount of mass appeal alternative cinema, the world’s source for something challenging and original.

This is the story of a New York low-budget film crew, led by their insane and egostical blind film director, Larry Benjamin, who is trying to create a work of art. In addition to the typical trials and travails of a Troma set, the crew is preyed upon by a sexually conflicted, bomb-toting serial killer. Among the large poorly-paid film crew, the movie centers mostly on production assistant Jennifer, who struggles to do her job while deciding between the two men in her life; the straight-laced boom operator Casey, and the rebellious special effects operator Jerry. The love triangle intensifies as the dead bodies mount with increasingly brutality. At the climax, the entire film crew bands together (both physically and sexually) against the mortal threat in their midst.

THE TAINT: TROMA FILM SCREENING
THE TAINT. Directed by Dan Nelson and Drew Bolduc. Starring Drew Bolduc, Colleen Walsh, Cody Crenshaw, Kenneth Hall.

The water is tainted. THE TAINT poisons the minds of men. It turns them into raging misogynists: monsters who want nothing more than to KILL WOMEN. When society is transformed into a land of sadistic violence and horrible brutality, it is up to Phil OʼGinny and his female friend, Misandra, to combat the horrible evil that is “THE TAINT”.  THE TAINT is an intellectual experience. It is an violent and misogynistic film about violence, misogyny, and entertainment. It features sadistic violence, gratuitous sexual content, and scenes of spellbinding dramatic interest. It also contains more cock explosions than any other movie ever.  THE TAINT was directed by Drew Bolduc (creator of THE GODENING!) and Dan Nelson. Drew described the film as, “The ultimate sexually-frustrated-male-nerd-emotional-masturbation-release film, done in the style of an 80ʼs horror-comedy.”  The low-budget independent film was made in Richmond, VA with the help of many incredibly talented local artists and Virginia Commonwealth University students. It is a testament to guerilla style filmmaking and a great example of what can be accomplished outside of the studio system with very little money.  THE TAINT is a completely original cinematic experience. It is a work unlike any other. David Bow of the Portland Mercury put it best, “someone else should see it, just to confirm for me that it’s real.”
